Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)

Informational Session: July 11, 12-1pm

There are currently over 400 children in foster care in the Roanoke Valley.  These figures alone are startling, but when you consider that Roanoke City holds the dubious distinction of having the most foster children in the state, you can understand why we desperately need additional volunteer advocates for our program.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a non-profit organization under the umbrella of the Children’s Trust of the Roanoke Valley.  CASA recruits, trains, and supervises community volunteers who advocate for the best interests of children in foster care.  CASA exists so every child who has experienced abuse or neglect can be safe, have a permanent home, and have the opportunity to thrive.

We are holding an information session at the South County Library on July 11th from 12-1.

Please contact Sammi Rader at sammi.rader@roact.org to RSVP, or if you need an alternative option.
