COME AND SEE THAT THE LORD IS GOOD

At Church of the Holy Spirit, our core mission is to make healthy disciples that make healthy disciples of Jesus Christ. In a world that is busier than ever, no one can grow into a healthy disciple of Jesus without intentional community in a church family. You see from the pages of the Old and New Testament, God created us for community. Come explore and join us to learn what church membership and discipleship looks like here at Church of the Holy Spirit

WHAT TO EXPECT

OUR SERVICES

Our services are structured, liturgical worship experiences blending ancient tradition with Scripture, featuring music and singing, responsive readings, prayers, a sermon, and Holy Communion (Eucharist) as its core, often following the Book of Common Prayer, with varied practices like kneeling and standing but visitors are welcome to follow along at their comfort level.

COMMUNION

We celebrate Holy Communion every week and in each service. This is family meal: baptized Christians are welcome to participate. To receive communion, you’ll walk to the front of the sanctuary (ushers will dismiss each row) where you’ll stand or kneel at the communion rail. Chalice bearers will present you with the elements (bread*, juice/wine). You may drink directly from the common cup (choose wine or grape juice) OR dip your bread into the wine (silver chalice) or juice (clear glass chalice). Communion is typically a quiet and reverent time with moments for personal prayer before and after.

If you prefer to opt out of participating, simply place your hands over your chest once you’ve reached the front of the sanctuary and a minister will offer you a brief blessing.

*Gluten-free bread is available. Please let the ushers know upon your arrival and they will provide you with our pre-packaged gluten-free wafer

COMING FOR THE FIRST TIME?

The best way to participate is to observe what others are doing around you. You can follow if they stand or sit or knee–however, there is no pressure to participate in anything unfamiliar. There is information in our bulletin and please don’t be afraid to ask a neighbor around you for help.
